Big Old Shout Out to My Dearest Friend SUZI GRANT!

What a woman! Suzi, for all of you that don't know her, is a dear friend of mine from all the way back in Jr. High. Well, the reason for the shout out is because this woman put together the most amazing fund raiser for Elliot's Angels. All I can say is WOW! A couple of Saturdays ago, she had a Mommies' Boutique at her home and found vendors that were willing to give their profits to the Elliot's Angels team. Little did I know how many good people are still out there. We had so many people who were ready and willing to do anything to help out. I just want to name a couple of the vendors that were so generous. All in the Bag Hand Bags, Blue Lily Candles, McQueen Bows, Mary Kay Makeup, Tiff and H McQueen Hats, JAC Baby, Jatta Printing, who made the cute tee shirts, Kimberly Stark, AnnMarie McDonald and many many more. Thank you all so very much! We also had so many people tell us that they would love to add something next year if we do it again. Well here is the Grand Total for this year. READY ....... $1789.25 WOW THANK YOU SUZI, YOU ARE AMAZING! I LOVE YOU! All of your hard work paid off. It was a hit, and you made it happen. And thank you to all of you who came to support us! I am so lucky to have such wonderful friends. I love you all too. And most importantly Elliot thanks you for adding years to his life!

RSV season officially over!

Elliot had his monthly CF Clinic check-up yesterday, and he is doing great. He now weighs 11lbs. 8 oz. Wow, thats what I call chubby. He is at 110% of his weight for his height. But the crazy thing is that he is the height of a typical 1 1/2 month baby. Oh well, he is still growing and that is all we can ask for. Our Doctor, Barbara Chatfield had some exciting news for us. RSV season is over which means that we are out of isolation. Yipee. We can now play with friends more freely! Also their is a new study that is being done on a specific strand of CF where they have found a drug that cancels out the effects of what the gene does to their bodies. It was a 2 weeks study and it was totally successful. Wow, that is huge. I know that it will take a long time for them to make the drug for all of the strands of the CF gene, but this is HUGE! It totally gives me hope, I know that my little salty guy will live to see the cure. So Hip Hip Hooray for the CF Foundation and all of the fund raising they have done. And Thank you to all that have donated to this cause, you are the ones that are making this happen.

A Good Heart

Well today Elliot went in for his Echo Cardiogram. Because he was so malnourished for the first 2 months of his life his little heart had to work a lot harder than a typical infant which caused it to be enlarged. So we had a couple of EKG's that came back a little funny. So we decided to do an Echo just to make sure. Well, he has the perfect little heart and it has shrunk down to normal size and it sound perfect. Wow what a relief. I am grateful that we only need to focus on his CF. Oh and also he now weighs 11 lb.. and 2 oz. Yeehaa, way to go little man! I am so proud of you!
